The North Jefferson News has an article about various headaches and treatment approach, including a section on sinus headaches. The article provides a good definition of a sinus headache, deep, constant facial pain worsened by sudden movement and often accompanied by other sinus symptoms. Also, the article has good suggestions for short term relief of sinus headache symptoms, including over the counter pain medication, decongestants, and using a humidifier or similar method to keep nasal passages moist. These are only temporary solutions.If sinus headache and other sinus symptoms persist don't continue using over the counter drugs beyond the maximum date indicated on the packaging, about 3-10 days depending on the particular medication. If symptoms persist you may have a more serious sinus infection and you should see a doctor.
