Nasal polyps are chronic inflammatory tissue that grows over a lifetime after age 30.  Patients may have comorbid asthma or an allergy to aspirin—which is known as a reactive to airways with aspirin sensitivity. These patients have multiple inflammatory pathways and on biopsy eosinophils are very evident in the material that one takes out of the nose.

The Dupixent or an anti-IL 413 monoclonal antibody are the first medications approved for treating nasal polyps. Patients with nasal polyps usually have chronic sinus infections and have had multiple surgeries with limited results.
