Reuters is reporting that the FDA has given tentative approval to a generic version of AstraZeneca's Accolate. The drug, Zafirlukast, is used for treating asthma and India's Dr Reddy's Laboratories is preparing manufacturing plans in preparation for final approval from the FDA.The demand for generic drugs is increasing as healthcare costs rise the world over.
