Study Shows Racial Differences in Asthma Diagnosis and Care

HealthDay is reporting on a recent study showing a greater prevalence of asthma in black and Hispanic children than white children. The study also indicates that black and Hispanic children are less likely to visit a specialist for asthma and more likely to have potentially avoidable asthma-related emergency room visits and hospitalizations. It's important to see a specialist after an asthma diagnosis so that proper management can be determined. Please, contact our offices, if you have been diagnosed with asthma and set up an appointment to discuss managing the condition.
