Chronic Sinusitis Relief

WCBSTV has a report on a recent study for a method of chronic sinusitis relief that is safe for children. The study covers a new treatment for opening sinus and allowing them to drain using a catheter and a balloon. The catheter is inserted into the patient's nose while under general anesthesia and a small balloon is inflated, opening up the sinuses and keeping them open, providing relief for chronic sinusitis sufferers by allowing the sinuses to drain. Researchers suggest that this may offer a treatment particularly well-suited for children. In previous treatments there have been concerns about the still growing facial bones in children and doctors have been hesitant about more invasive treatments. If you suffer from chronic sinusitis, a sinus infection that lasts more than three months or frequent sinus infections, learning more about treatment options is important. Sinusitis can be a painful condition and can be worsened during allergy season. For more informationΓ‚ contact our office for an appointment.
